Ragusa

From an urban point of view the city of Ragusa is typologically one of the most significant examples of a double reality: Ibla, a product of successive functional adaptability from the old city situated on a hill and Ragusa which was entirely rebuilt after the earthquake in 1693. A model of new planning, with a strong geometrical plan culturally linked to the new latin-american urban designs. With the rebirth of a new urban complex, it constitutes an example of the most representative phenomenon of the splitting up of a city due to seismic interferences.
