Noto

In its complexity the urban town of Noto constitutes an example of one of the most representative urban complexes after the earthquake. It deals with a city which is entirely connected to the late Baroque; wholly rebuilt in time and placed in a different location altogether from its original site which was abandoned by its inhabitants. It is a rare case where a city was planned from scratch and whose design with regards to the monumental part was attributed with reasonable certainty to the great Gesuit architect and engineer Angelo Italia.
